What You Will Learn
EFT Course Curriculum
- What EFT or “Tapping” is
- The mind-body-emotion connection
- Understanding the EFT approach to emotional blocks
- Why unresolved emotions can continue influencing our present responses
- When and how EFT can be used
Before tapping, you first learn to identify what you are actually working on.
You will learn how to:
- Define the problem clearly
- Identify the emotion underneath the situation
- Notice where you feel it in your body
- Separate a general problem from a specific emotional event
Learn how to use the 0–10 intensity scale to check how strongly an emotion, memory or discomfort is affecting you before and after tapping.
Your material recommends rating the issue before and after EFT so that progress can be observed.
- Rate the issue before EFT
- Use the 0–10 intensity scale
- Tap and reassess the emotional intensity
- Observe your progress before and after EFT
Learn how to create the classic EFT setup phrase:
You will understand:
- Why the setup statement is used
- How to make your statement specific
- How to acknowledge difficult emotions without judging yourself
- Alternative acceptance phrases when “I accept myself” doesn't feel authentic
The setup combines acknowledgement of the specific problem with self-acceptance.
You will learn where and how to tap, including the core points used in the shorter EFT sequence:
The course material also introduces the optional Below Nipple and Wrist points for completeness.
Learn how a simple word or phrase keeps you connected to the emotion you are working on while tapping.
For example:
- “This anger.”
- “This fear.”
- “Feeling rejected.”
- “This anxiety.”
The reminder phrase is designed to keep the specific issue in conscious awareness as you move through the tapping sequence.
Learn the complete flow:
You will practise how to continue tapping until the emotional intensity begins to shift.
Sometimes what appears to be one emotion has several layers underneath it.
For example:
May actually include:
- “He embarrassed me.”
- “I felt unheard.”
- “I felt disrespected.”
- “It reminded me of something that happened years ago.”
You will learn how to recognise these different aspects and work with them individually rather than trying to tap on one huge, general problem.
You will also be introduced to:
- Finger tapping points
- The Full Sequence
- When additional points may be useful
The training material includes thumb, index, middle and little-finger tapping points as additions to the fuller sequence.
Understand the optional 9 Gamut Technique, involving tapping on the Gamut point while incorporating:
- Eye movements
- Counting
- Humming
Learn why EFT tends to work better when you move away from broad statements such as:
And identify specific experiences:
- Identify specific emotional experiences
- Move away from broad or general statements
- Explore the specific experiences behind a bigger emotional belief
You will learn how to uncover the specific experiences supporting a bigger emotional belief.
One of the most valuable takeaways from the workshop.
You will learn to create your own list of significant emotional memories and gradually work through them with EFT as an ongoing personal practice.
The Personal Peace Procedure recommends:
- Identifying specific bothersome events
- Giving them short “movie titles”
- Beginning with those carrying the greatest emotional intensity
- Working through them progressively
- Using EFT as an ongoing personal practice
We will also cover common questions such as:
- What if my emotion becomes stronger?
- What if another feeling appears while tapping?
- When do I stop?
- Do I need to repeat the process?
- Can I change the words?
- Do I need to tap on a particular side?
Your course material specifically teaches students to follow changing feelings and recognise that another emotion emerging can reveal another layer of the issue.
