Reiki and The Chakras
Many ask me if Reiki healing and Chakra healing are the same thing.
The Chakra system is a very interesting aspect of the body. Your body is not just made of the physical blood and flesh that is visible to you. There is a huge invisible part of the body that exists at an energy level. Some clairvoyants can see as many as 9 different energy systems in the body named as follows: chakras, aura, meridians, celtic weave, five rhythms, electrics, radiant circuits, triple warmer, basic grid. These energy systems have been distinguished by famous energy therapist Donna Eden.
The chakra system, as the name suggests, is a wheel, a disk or a vortex of energy spinning in and around the body at specific points. There are seven main chakras in the body starting at the base of your spine and traveling up to the crown of your head. Known as the energy centers of the body, they carry specific information about specific aspects of you and impact those aspects at a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level. The seven main chakras represent the 7 colors of the Rainbow. The first 5 chakras also represent the 5 elements – Root Chakra (Muladhara) represents the element of earth, Sacral chakra (Svadhisthana) represents the element of water, Solar Plexus chakra (Manipura) represents the element of fire, Heart chakra (Anahata) represents the element of air, the Throat chakra (Vishuddha) represents the element of space/ether. The upper 2 chakras: the Third eye chakra (Ajna) and the Crown chakra (Sahasrara) represent cosmic elements like light and universal wisdom.
The Chakras can move in clockwise as well as anti-clockwise direction. When they rotate in a clockwise direction, they absorb the energy of everything that they interact with. When they rotate in an anti-clockwise direction, they release the energy. So, they rotate clockwise, absorb and utilize the energy and then rotate anti-clockwise in order to release what is unwanted. Chakras can be balanced, imbalanced or blocked and they can also be overactive or too open. When the chakras are open and balanced, they function at their optimum level as energy or ‘ki’ flows freely through them.
When the chakras are blocked the flow of energy or ‘ki’ is blocked and that creates imbalances at a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level.
‘Reiki’ is a universally guided lifeforce energy that has its own intelligence and has the power to heal anything. When Reiki is guided towards the chakras, it helps in releasing all the energetic blockages and therefore brings back the chakras to their optimum energy level. Reiki helps in purifying, healing and balancing the chakras which helps in improving the health of the chakras drastically, increasing their productivity.
